Fast Forward

The concept for this print originated from a conversation with Astrid at our breakfast table. We were experiencing the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic, the day after the initial lockdowns were announced. We talked about how we would love the ability to quietly fast-forward the world, to spare everyone from enduring the trying times ahead.

In the Fine Art print, the colors are more vibrant than I dared to hope for. I love the kinetic energy of color. Watching how the pigmented ink has saturated the woolly fibers of the watercolor paper is an almost physical sensation for me.

“Fast Forward” is next to “UNDO” the second work that deals with the inevitability of what has become true.
